President's Message

Welcome to another issue of the NAPMW-Austin Newsletter!

Each month I am thrilled with the support NAPMW-Austin has received and especially in terms of the increase in our membership. We have seen a 25% increase in membership this year! We are grateful to each of you for recognizing the value your membership in a professional organization such as this has to yourself and your industry!

We have received a wonderful slate of candidates for next year’s Executive Board and I want to recognize those individuals who have considered stepping into Leadership Roles in our Association for the 2007-2008 year:

Shawn Sullivan, Webster Bank-President
Connie Smith, Law Offices of Brett Shanks/Fidelity Title-President-Elect
Ginny Miller, Land Mortgage, Treasurer
Angela Bujnoch, RMIC-Vice President of Education
Rachelle Bennett, Webster Bank-Vice President of Services and Resources
Gretchen Rossington, Encore Bank-Vice President of Communication
Shirley Windle, MortgageIT, a division of Deutsche Bank-Recording Secretary
Carol Evanicky-McPhereson-Corresponding Secretary
And
Joanne Rossa-National City Mortgage Corporation, 2nd Director

In any instance when you have individuals who step into roles in a volunteer organization such as this one-you also have employers who invest time in those people. So I want to thank all of the employers for these people who recognize the value of their employees and NAPMW. Thank you!

Don’t forget our April General Meeting will also be our local election. That takes place April 9, 2007 again at Dave and Busters in Northwest Austin. We will be privileged to hear from Shelley Fryman of Webster Bank. Shelley is a NAPMW-Chicago member. She has a wonderful sense of humor and a positive message for all of us. Please don’t miss this!

April 17th is Choose to Lead. Choose to Lead is a little unique in that it is geared toward people who want to grow and develop their leadership skills and hone their professional business skills. Our featured speakers will include; Kathie Kosicki-National President NAPMW, Hulene Bridgeman-Works, Former National President NAPMW and Murielle Barnes, Central Region Vice President NAPMW. Austin has the unique opportunity to bring three current National board members to you at one time. They will share their experiences both in the industry in the area of leadership and how NAPMW made a difference in their professional lives. Amy C Baker will be our special guest. Amy has been in the local news as of late, most recently this past fall. Her personal account of what could have been a tragic outcome is no less than inspiring. What you may not know about Amy is that she was a former Dell executive for many years and now helps companies and individuals through her own company Logos Strategies fine tune their personal and professional growth plans. Her topic-“Imagine Your Impact!” The cost of this event is $50 but includes a full breakfast for yourself and a guest. So bring your mentor, employer, employee, friend and enjoy a truly wonderful time. Please see further details in this newsletter.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Blessings,

Candace Smith, CMI
President NAPMW-Austin
