President's Message
Greetings!
I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful Holiday time with your family. I know that we did.
In addition to the many things we do during this season, many of us enjoyed getting together at WR Starkey’s offices in early December to put together baskets for Ronald McDonald House. The House loved the Baskets and goodies and promised to put them to good use with all the families. A very special thank you to all those who donated items for the baskets or funds or time to help assemble and deliver them. Please know your efforts were appreciated!
As the New Year dawns on us, NAPMW-Austin is working on some great things for the rest of the year for you!
Scott Carley will be joining us on January 9th to help focus us a little more on how we can tackle our time management issues and get better organized. We hope we see you there!
Don’t forget to block out time in February for the Annual Valentine Wine-Tasting at Grapevine Market. If you have never been then you are in for a wonderful treat. It is also a membership opportunity. So don’t forget to bring some of your co-workers and associates along and introduce them to NAPMW.
March is Fair Lending Month and we are hoping to have Dr. Gary Lacefield with us to discuss this topic that is both timely and one of the most misunderstood topics in our industry.
NAPMW Austin will host it’s first Leadership Summit in April as well and it is open to anyone who desires to grow personally and professionally in their career. Keep your eyes open for more information on this.
Our President-Elect for next year is Shawn Sullivan, Account Executive for National City Mortgage Corporation and she is already making plans for another great year! The 2007 Nominations Committee; Connie Smith (Fidelity National Title), Jeanne Evans (A Plus FCU), and Kay Dunning-Bostelman (Allstate) are interested in talking with you if you are interested in becoming more involved in NAPMW-Austin. You may think it is early to be considering this as our elections don’t take place till April however it isn’t. It is never too early to think about the changes you can make in your career and your industry.
Make it a great 2007 everyone!
Candace Smith, CMI
President NAPMW-Austin
