Message from Shawn Sullivan, 2007-2008 President NAPMW-Austin

I am thrilled and excited about this year! NAPMW-Austin is growing and has many exciting things planned for 2007-2008. The Bottle Auction is Thursday, June 14th – just around the corner! Be sure to RSVP…you don’t want to miss “A Night in the Big Easy”. This is always a fabulous event, with great auction items, prizes, food and entertainment, and I am positive this year will be just as grand!

I just returned from my very first National Education Conference and Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. Candace Smith and Ginny Miller also attended (thankfully, so they could show me the ropes!), and we all learned a lot and had a fantastic time. The conference was packed with informative seminars and speakers, and there was something for everyone, no matter what your position in the mortgage industry. Next year, the conference will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Hurricane Katrina directly affected many of the New Orleans members, but they are back up and running, as strong as ever, and they are very excited to be hosting the 2008 National Education Conference. I would strongly encourage you to attend, and promise that you will leave with a wealth of knowledge and a large group of new friends and valuable business contacts. NAPMW-Austin will be putting together a Point Bank to help defray the cost for members to attend next year’s convention – watch for further details coming soon!

I am grateful and blessed to have nine awesome women serving on the Executive Board this year, as well as a fantastic Parliamentarian and several wonderful committee chairs. I would like to thank each one of them in advance for all of their support and hard work – none of this would be possible without their help! Members, thank you for allowing me to serve as your President for the next year. I am eagerly looking forward to beginning this journey with you.

Strive for greatness,
Shawn Sullivan
