President's Message

Greetings!

I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone.

The Valentine Wine Tasting and Networking Event was really great. We had a good turnout and ended up with 14 new membership applications which is phenomenal! On behalf of our membership Welcome aboard and congratulations to each of you for investing in yourselves and your industry! Thank you again to our sponsors and donators for the event and the Wine Tasting Committee-Meredith McConnell, Ellen Black, Laura Vallejo, Connie Smith, and Gretchen Rossington! Thank you also to Ike and Mary at Grapevine Market for all their efforts. Great job all!

We will be having our Local Nominations for 2007-2008 Executive Board at our next monthly meeting. Dr. Gary Lacefield will be joining us to discuss RESPA. This is a great time to invite your Realtor associates and join us! I have known Dr. Lacefield for some time and he is a wonderful speaker. I know you will benefit from it. Remember the date March 13, 2007. Our 2007-2008 slate of officers will be presented at this meeting and nominations will also be taken from the floor. If you are interested in running for a Board position, it is not too late. Thank you to Connie Smith, Nominations Chair and her committee for all of the hard work.

There are two very special events in April that you do not want to miss! Our April General Meeting will feature Shelley Fryman with Webster Bank who will discuss the Roles of Women in the Mortgage Industry. Shelley is an enthusiastic individual and also a NAPMW member from Chicago. I am looking forward to hearing from her. Thank you to Past President, Rachelle Bennett and President Elect, Shawn Sullivan of Webster Bank for bringing her to our attention. We will also have our 2007-2008 Board elections at this event. Come and support your candidates. Something that is very dear to me is our ability as professionals to take opportunities afforded to us through professional organizations like NAPMW to grow and step outside ourselves. To lead in our industry with integrity. Our Choose to Lead Presentation will take all of us one step closer. Think about this for a moment-for the price of a ticket you will get to hear some great messages about NAPMW and professional development; enjoy a wonderful meal and invite your employer or mentor to join you at no additional cost. You can’t match it anywhere! We are delighted to have with us the 2006-2007 National President for NAPMW Kathie Kosicki. We have also invited National Past President Hulene Bridgeman-Works and National Vice President – Central Region, Murielle Barnes. Our special guest will be author, speaker and business consultant Amy C. Baker discussing “Imagine Your Impact! “
